FoJP : Capital Campaign Manager Job Description

Friends of Jackson Park (FoJP) is seeking an experienced Capital Campaign Manager to lead the final phase of an eight figure park renovation capital campaign. With over 75% of funding already secured, this is well-positioned for a manager to confidently execute the strategic plan and close the campaign over the next year working closely with the Executive Director and board leadership.

The ideal candidate brings:

● Demonstrated experience managing complex capital campaigns, major gift fundraising, prospect development, and volunteer engagement

● Proven ability to develop and execute a successful fundraising strategy

● Strong leadership and attention to detail to maintain high momentum

Capital Campaign Strategy & Management

● Develop detailed, milestone-driven strategy to close the remaining $8MM campaign gap, including annual fundraising goals, major gifts, corporate and foundation opportunities, and other campaign revenue

● Develop tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for priority prospects

Prospect Development & Major Gifts

●Prospect Research & Identification

● Maintain and tailor the campaign messaging and case materials

● Prepare staff, board, and volunteer leaders for donor meetings and solicitations

Board, Volunteer & Organizational Capacity

● Partner with board leadership to establish clear fundraising expectations and roles

  • Lead campaign volunteers with the information, tools, training, and support needed to effectively cultivate and solicit donors.

  • Training & Coaching: Train and coach board members and volunteers on effective fundraising.

Fundraising Systems, Infrastructure & Reporting

● Prospect Management: Establish and maintain effective systems for tracking prospects, donor interactions, next steps, solicitations, commitments, and stewardship.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

● Demonstrated experience managing or supporting successful capital campaigns and/or major gift programs, ideally campaigns of a similar scale.

● Strong analytical and organizational skills, including experience with donor databases and CRM systems.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex projects and community impact into compelling fundraising narratives.

● Strong leadership to get this project done as quickly as we can.
